Suckin' Diesel In InterNet First!

We are Ballyhoo's first musicians on the InterNet, pioneering a new technology called MP-3 to bring our music to an estimated potential audience of four billion people. We had to specially condense the tracks so that they take a shorter time to load down from the InterNet. People get frustrated if your songs take too long to load down, so they go off and load down something else, so we decided to record much shorter versions of our best known tunes for people to load down.

The InterNet album, which is still in the pipeline, is provisionally titled "Now That's What I Call The Worst Wedding Ceili Band From Hell". The new recordings will include some of our most requested ballads and reels, including "The Ballyhoo Reeks", "My Bonnie Lies Over The Dashboard", "Throw the Blanket On the Ground (dance remix)", "Silage Wrap", and "That Aul Bollix Wouldn't Serve Me A Pint".

Charity track

We are to contribute a track to the charity fund-raising CD 'Caravan Morrison'. Proceeds from sale of the CD will go towards a new drop-in centre for the travelling community in Ballyhoo. We were originally toying with giving them 'Dinner Is Ready When The Smoke Alarm Goes Off', a track from our last album. We also thought it might be fun to tackle a cover version of the Christy Moore song 'We Don't Want Your Sort Round Here You're Barred'. But then the lads put their thinking caps on and decided to do a rush recording of a new version of the traditional hornpipe 'No I Don't Want Me Driveway Tarmacked'. It was great fun but hard work, and afterwards we were all well and truly knackered!

Many thanks to...

...everybody who helped us along the way, especially all the "mammys" and "daddys" who in the past paid for the music lessons, musical instruments etc, and Dr Patsey Casey of course for standing bail.
